Latest NewsSing In French is working in partnership with Mind Your Language French Clubs (www.myl-frenchclubs.co.uk) to create a pool of experienced teachers and students who will be able to stage a performance of 'Pinot'
:
Sing In French has formed a new consortium with 3 partners: The founder members of the 'London Consortium for Music and Languages' are Hanna Pianos (www.hanna-pianos.co.uk); Merton Languages (www.mertonlanguages.co.uk); and Cherry Pie Music (www.cherrypiemusic.co.uk). Building on our new relationship with Merton Council, plans are now afoot to stage a pilot Schools Eurovision show. Watch this space.... All of our holiday clubs are now booked with MYL French Clubs in East London. We hope to be able to offer our French Panto course through Merton Languages in 2010. Do check out the new Government Body for languages 'Links Into Languages'(www.linksintolanguages.ac.uk). This organisation invited us to the launch briefing on October 1st to ask us to provide samples of our products to all 9 of their regional centres so that teachers can sample the songs and musical play. Of course we agreed!! We were delighted to be awarded 5 Stars by the Schoolzone Website. Praise Indeed! Thank you Schoolzone! We are delighted to announce that we were named 'A Regional Winner for London' recently in HSBC's national search for the most innovative, creative and inspirational company less than 3 years old. We were thrilled to see that our new approach to learning French was clearly appreciated by the judging panel. Thank you HSBC! We finally launched our new album, Cha Cha Cha Excusez Moi! at the Language Show on 31st October 2008 in Olympia...: Our new musical show 'Pinot' is being released as a series of 10 minute 'Plug n Play' French assemblies..: We have invented the concept of a 'Plug n Play' assembly! For more details, check out 'Plug n Play' French assemblies (look to your left!!) Currently Scene 1 is available. And finally, here is an introduction to the plot of our new musical show 'Pinot'! .: Pinot is an exciting story about a young Russian boy (Petrov Popov!) who arrives illegally in Paris on Eurostar, and whose ambition is to win the Tour De France to fulfil his great-grandfather’s dream. His great-grandfather was killed by the Bolsheviks in the 1917 Russian Revolution. He arrives penniless, with no bike and unable to speak French!. When asked by the French police for his name, he thinks on his feet and, with the help of a friendly beggar, uses the name of a French Wine (Pinot Blanc) which is being advertised nearby. From that moment on (Scene 2), he is known as ‘Pinot’. The show is an audience-participation experience where everyone sings along in French with Pinot as he learns the language. All the songs are from ‘Cha Cha Cha Comme Ci Comme Ca!’ or ‘Cha Cha Cha Excusez Moi!’ There is high drama when the French Police arrest Pinot along with some other illegal Russian immigrants. The audience shares Pinot’s struggle for survival as he learns French, hides from the police, escapes from jail and overcomes the obstacle of obtaining a bicycle and competing in the Tour De France. Naturally, at the end Pinot competes in and wins the Tour De France. He is made a legal citizen but a strong message goes out about entering countries illegally and not buying train tickets! |
